Our Quantitative Sciences team use big data to analyze the safety and efficacy claims of our potential medical breakthroughs. We review the quality and reliability of clinical studies using deep scientific knowledge, statistical analysis and high-quality data to support decision making in clinical trials. As an Associate Principal Scientist in the Cardiometabolic Disease Group, you will be responsible for growing internal capabilities in bioinformatics for the site and discovering biological insights from multi-omics datasets. The scientist will be integrated across the Cardiometabolic Disease teams to facilitate analysis of genomic, metabolomic, proteomic and other omics datasets, identify new targets and develop new mechanistic insights into diseases across the group. Responsibilities and Duties Build omics/digital capabilities for projects across several key therapeutic areas. Develop new bioinformatics approaches for analysis of large-scale genomics datasets and application development. Manage the development of data-driven workflows and integrate omics capabilities. Collaborate with various internal teams including software, clinical, operations, research, and product development. Act as bioinformatics functional lead for scientific collaborators in the group. Be responsible for analyses that include design, data gathering, processing, iteration with collaborators, and presentation of results. Education Minimum Requirements Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, Genetics, Genomics, Biological Sciences, Physics, or equivalent with 4+ years of relevant experience in positions of increasing responsibility Required Experience and Skills Experience in conducting research where statistical methods and algorithms are applied to large-scale omics datasets. Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, perform translational research, and contribute to cross-functional projects. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
