Job Description

The National University of Singapore is looking for a Research Fellow for a research project. We seek a highly motivated and an organized scientist with a background in computational biology bioinformatics or related fields. The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to independently create computational/bioinformatics pipelines/workflows to assemble annotate and interpret plant and/or microbial genomes.The position is within a multi-disciplinary research team which broadly pursues microbiomes and physiological investigations on plants systems/agriculture and allied domains. The team consists of postdoctoral fellows PhDs and other research assistants.

Qualifications

A PhD in genomics/bioinformatics/computational biology with demonstrated experience through peer reviewed publications in international journals (at least 2-3) in the above-mentioned areas
A self-initiated researcher with an innate capacity for systemic and cross-disciplinary thinking
Able to plan and create the pipeline for genome assembly and annotation of key plant and microbial species from different environments
Be responsible for interpreting genomic data to identify physiological and evolutionary underpinnings of key phenomena/functions
