ROLE SUMMARYWe are seeking an experienced software developer to join our team to deliver solutions that streamline Pfizer’s R&D workflows and enable data driven decision-making. The Solution Engineer (SE) is a member of Pfizer Digital’s R&D Solutions organization, which helps bring medicines to patients by implementing impactful scientific software solutions, and providing the talent for project planning, execution and application development excellence. The primary focus of the role will be the design, implementation and support of fit-for-purpose solutions primarily targeting Pfizer’s Oncology Research site in Boulder, CO. A good balance of scientific knowledge and solid technical skills will be key to the success of this role. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES - Act as a thought partner in establishing the Digital strategy for Pfizer Boulder R&D
- Collaborate closely with Client Partners and R&D scientists to align digital initiatives with R&D needs
- Design and implement minimally viable products (MVP) from an initial set of requirements, employing agile methodologies for rapid solution evolution.
- Manage stakeholder expectations on project scope, deliverables and timelines.
- Guide the work of other developers (FTE or contract) as required by individual initiatives.
- Work in a matrix, team environment with Pfizer colleagues as well as vendor partners.
- Mentor junior members in the software development team on best practices in software development.
- Advocate for Agile and DevOps methodologies, and keep abreast of emerging technologies.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, bioinformatics or related fields, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience delivering informatics solutions in the biopharmaceutical realm.
- Programming skills in Java, JavaScript, SQL, NoSQL, Python, C#/.NET or other programming or scripting languages.
- Experience with Oracle database development
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP and Azure and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with the software development life cycle.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems with innovative approaches.
- Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on customer experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Advanced degree (MS, PhD) in a field relevant to the role.
- Experience in life science informatics.
- Demonstrated ability to develop competency in new technology and areas of science relevant to drug discovery.

For roles based in Colorado: The annual base salary for this position ranges from $87,300 to $145,500. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
