Overview:
CancerCare Manitoba Research Institute is working with the Genomics discipline at Shared Health Diagnostics to adopt Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and micro-array technology using the Illumina platform for routine clinical diagnostics and basic cancer research related projects. The discipline will require its own start-to-end bioinformatics pipeline to integrate with the clinical and basic cancer research workflows.

Requirements:
PhD or Master’s degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science or related discipline
Two years of experience developing and validating a bioinformatics pipeline for cancer genomics.
Experience managing and working with NGS data is required; in particular large RNAseq, ChIPseq and ATACseq datasets. Previous experience in working with single-cell genomics platforms and single-cell analysis would be advantageous
Extensive knowledge and experience in the use of existing bioinformatics tools such as NextGENe®, Geneticist Assistant®, ANNOVAR, as well as biological databases
Experience with the Illumina sequencing platforms
Familiar with version control system
Able to legally work in Canada

Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
Preferred:
Knowledge of Manitoba eHealth environment
Understanding SQL database development
Ability to speak French
Salary: Non-Union - Compensation based on qualifications
Additional Information:
Direct care workers are required to either be vaccinated for Covid-19 or to participate in on-going regular Covid-19 testing pursuant to Orders made under The Public Health Act C.C.S.M. c. P210.
