Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated associate computational biologist to join a new team at the Broad Institute to build a Human Gene Regulation Map. This effort will seek to understand the fundamental wiring of the noncoding genome and build a reference map for uncovering biological mechanisms on common genetic diseases. Key investigators involved: Jesse Engreitz Melina Claussnitzer Vidya Subramanian Kasper Lage.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with experience in high-throughput genomics and data analysis to join this team which will make fundamental discoveries in mapping gene regulation in various cell types and tissues understanding cellular programs and developing new tools to uncover mechanisms of disease. This team will develop and apply technologies combining CRISPR single-cell measurements and epigenomic tools in human cells and tissue to understand genetic regulation in health and disease.

Our group is a dynamic innovative and interdisciplinary workplace and is seeking to hire an exceptional scientist who will work closely with our labs and collaborators throughout the Broad community in this next foundational project to understand the human genome.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES

  • Collaborate with experimentalists and computational biologists to develop and apply functional genomics techniques
  • Design and implement generalizable algorithms and tools for analysis of biological data including high-throughput functional genomics assays
  • Evaluate and recommend new emerging technologies approaches and problems
  • Create scientifically rigorous visualizations communications and presentations of results
  • Contribute to generation of protocols publications and intellectual property
  • Maintain and organize computational infrastructure and resources

QUALIFICATIONS
