Job Description The Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard is looking for an outstanding Postdoctoral Associate to join the McCarroll Lab (http://mccarrolllab.org/) in the Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research. The mission of the Stanley Center is to improve the lives of patients suffering from serious brain illnesses through groundbreaking basic and translational research. Based on unprecedented insights into the genetic basis of psychiatric disorders the Stanley Center aims to uncover key disease mechanisms and discover novel therapeutics. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary group and perform cutting-edge research on the molecular cellular and neurobiological mechanisms of brain disorders. Specifically the candidate will analyze single-cell data to address biological questions about disease pathogenesis genetics and biomarkers. The candidate will address fundamental scientific questions formulate hypotheses design and execute experiments interpret data and write and publish original papers often in collaboration with other lab members Stanley Center colleagues and external collaborators. Requirements: Qualified candidates should have: PhD in neuroscience molecular/cellular biology biochemistry computational biology or related field Excellent communication skills (written and oral) Strong publication record Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Must be able to handle a variety of tasks and to adapt to a highly dynamic environment
