Overview

A full-time computational biology postdoctoral research fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Brian Crompton in the Department of Pediatric Oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for a highly motivated individual. The Crompton laboratory is recruiting a postdoctoral research fellow to focus on analysis of multi-dimensional genomic data generated from highly unique cohorts of patient samples. The fellow will also work on developing novel computational algorithms and adapting existing tools to unique scenarios.

The Crompton laboratory specializes in using a combination of next-generation sequencing approaches to profile tumor biopsies germline samples and liquid biopsies (including circulating tumor DNA and circulating tumor cells) collected from patients with aggressive childhood solid tumors. Serial tissue from the largest phase 3 trials in North America are studied in our laboratory using a wide range of techniques. Approaches include custom hybrid capture sequencing whole-genome sequencing digital droplet PCR single-cell RNA-sequencing single-cell proteomics methylation profiling ATAC-Seq and ChIP-Seq. The postdoctoral research fellow will lead computational projects studying these data to identify prognostic biomarkers of outcome recurrent patterns of tumor evolution and identify mechanisms of treatment resistance in the most aggressive solid malignancies effecting children.

Located in Boston and the surrounding communities Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a leader in life changing breakthroughs in cancer research and patient care. We are united in our mission of conquering cancer HIV/AIDS and related diseases.
