Job Description:
A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the group of Prof. André Gerber to study the role of untranslated regions (UTRs) of mRNAs in timing gene expression in human cells. Hence, the postholder will apply recently developed RNA-affinity purification methods to functionally characterise RNA-binding protein complexes with global and specific means and cell-based assays. At the end, we aim to improve UTRs for RNA therapeutic applications. The project is funded and performed in collaboration with a leading European biotech company in RNA Therapeutics, providing the unique opportunity to work at the interface of academic and applied biotech research. We are seeking an enthusiastic scientist with a Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, or related field. Extensive experience with protein and RNA techniques, excellent molecular biology skills and significant knowledge and interest in gene expression control is essential. Experience with genomics or proteomics tools as well as bioinformatics/computational biology is a plus. Good communication skills are essential, and we expect the applicants have published (or about to publish) in peer-reviewed journals.
