Are you passionate about cutting edge computational approaches for understanding the neurobiology of pain, including the integration of multi-omic data, the utilization of machine learning and artificial intelligence, and the analysis and visualization of complex datasets? You should possess an outstanding attention to scientific detail, flexibility with the application of your skills, and be highly collaborative within a larger group setting. We seek a candidate that is enthusiastic about a career in drug discovery and passionate about pursuing medicines that make life better for patients suffering with pain and migraine. Your Key Responsibilities Might Include Collaborate with cross-functional teams from basic research and clinical development to find opportunities to support discovery and development strategies through analyses of large external and internal datasets. Apply innovative computational methods to analyze multiscale genomics, molecular profiling, and imaging data in chronic pain. Provide experimental design, genomic data generation and analyses to influence the discovery of new pain targets and patient biomarkers. Engage in research interrogating the molecular heterogeneity of chronic pain mechanisms. Collaborate with academic and medical experts to build internal knowledge of the molecular basis of chronic pain. Collaborate with other informatics scientists and statisticians to optimize data analysis methods and solutions for automated workflows, database creation, and data visualization. Additional Skills/Preferences : Experience in computational or statistical sciences or bioinformatics with a strong emphasis on computational methods for genomic data analysis highly preferred. Proficiency with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, and R. Experience with high performance cluster computing queuing systems such as SGE or condor. Experience in managing, processing and analyzing data from one or more NGS platforms such as whole genome sequencing, exome sequencing, RNA-Seq, single cell sequencing, ATAC-Seq, ChIPSeq, and expression, genotyping, and methylation arrays. Competence with publicly and commercially available bioinformatics tools for omics analyses. Experience with machine learning and/or artificial intelligence methods is strongly preferred.
