What this position is all about: Cellarity is seeking a highly motivated computational biologist with deep expertise in single-cell omics, genotyping, pathway enrichment analysis, gene regulatory network inference, and application of machine learning approaches. You will develop analytical tools to model disease states and causal drivers that modulate cellular behavior changes. You will work closely with the Computational Biology and Drug Discovery Program teams and collaborate cross-functionally within Cellarity. You are results-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and eager to work in a highly dynamic and fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
What you would be responsible for:
- Leverage Computational Biology techniques (single-cell genomics, GWAS, disease biology, pathway enrichment analysis) to model disease-related signatures enabling insights on mechanisms of molecular perturbations.
- Develop robust pipelines to process and analyze perturbed gene expression datasets, genotyping, and multi-omics.
- Establish data-driven and knowledge-driven methodologies to build gene regulatory models that elucidate cell behavior changes in response to compound perturbations.
- Collaborate with scientists from other disciplines such as Biology and Chemistry teams as part of the wider drug discovery project team.
What experience will you need:
- Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Computational Biology or related disciplines.
- Extensive experience in analysis of bulk and single-cell omics data and genotyping.
- Strong knowledge of pathway enrichment, differential expression analysis, gene regulatory inference, and cell type annotation.
- Extensive experience in Python, sklearn, pandas, numpy.
- High proficiency in developing and interpreting Machine Learning models, such as Linear/Logistic Regression and XGBoost.
- Ability to successfully work in cross-functional teams with an emphasis on collaboration and communication across the department.
