Research across UHN's five research institutes spans the full spectrum of diseases and disciplines, including cancer, cardiovascular sciences, transplantation, neural and sensory sciences, musculoskeletal health, rehabilitation sciences, and community and population health. We are seeking an experienced professional to fill the key role of Post Doctoral Fellow in Liquid Biopsy under the auspices of the Cancer Genomics Program, to lead translational research projects in a highly interdisciplinary environment. The Cancer Genomics Program is a research program at the Princess Margaret (PM) that has established the core infrastructure for collecting and storing liquid biopsies from cancer patients for future research by PM scientists and clinicians collaborating across the institution. PM is home to leaders in the Liquid Biopsy field, including Drs. Lillian Siu, Trevor Pugh, Daniel De Carvalho, Scott Bratman, Hanson He and many others. Ongoing and future work will pursue innovative approaches to liquid biopsy analysis to maximize clinical translation and patient impact. The successful candidate will have an outstanding research track record during his/her PhD as evidenced by published high-impact work in computational biology, bioinformatics, data science, or related fields with a focus on cancer, genetics, and/or epigenetics. Candidates with expertise in liquid biopsies, genomics/epigenomics/transcriptomics, statistical modeling, and AI/machine learning approaches in biomedicine are especially encouraged to apply. Programming experience from prior research and familiarity with high-performance computing environments would be considered strong assets. The successful candidate will be expected to have strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
