X-Ray Optical Systems (East Greenbush, NY) seeks Modeling & Computational Scientist Responsible for performing software engineering activities that assist in product development and sustainment, and creating strategic intellectual property that supports business objectives. Work with a team of developers to design, implement, and modify platforms, products, and test utilities for customers and internal use. Maintain the existent C++ based algorithms and perform mathematical modeling, debug and improve. Develop efficient algorithms for spectral analysis by solving linear matrix equations. Develop logic and efficient algorithms for solving matrix equation with physics constraints. Work with other software engineers and be part of the integration systems, SW release process. Document technical work to disseminate knowledge. Study and master in-house technologies appropriate for work tasks. Solve daily critical technical issues in related projects and R&D activities. Requirements: Master’s degree in Physics, Math or Material Science discipline with 1 year of experience or research in C/C++, computation modeling/simulation, computational programming to solve linear matrix equations, and material characterization techniques. Knowledge of statistical software and scripting languages, including MATLAB, Bash and Python. Demonstrated research in polymer blend and polymer nanocomposite materials leading to publication.
