Job Description:

Every immune system has a story to tell— the key is knowing how to listen. Our goal is to meaningfully improve people’s lives by learning from the wisdom of their adaptive immune systems. It’s a bold objective that we’re uniquely built to achieve. At Adaptive, you'll be challenged, you'll be inspired, and you'll be part of an innovative organization making a real impact on improving the quality of life globally. No matter what your role is, you'll find a diverse, team-driven, fun culture where your contributions truly count. Position Overview Adaptive is seeking a thoughtful machine learning scientist who is enthusiastic about machine learning, the immune system, and improving human health. We are looking for someone with substantial experience in solving classification problems in biological datasets and communicating results to diverse audiences. You will join a highly collaborative Antigen Map project that is connecting T-cell receptors with the antigens that they bind. By decoding these interactions of the adaptive immune system, we aim to build a map of clinically relevant signals that may help diagnose cancer, autoimmune disease, and infectious disease. Outstanding candidates will have demonstrated the ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. Adaptive strongly values professional development, and we are committed to helping team members grow in their careers. Responsibilities Develop and apply robust machine learning methods that combine biological insights with rapidly evolving data. Perform quick and thorough analyses of DNA sequencing of T-cell receptors and other experimental data to understand outliers, make descriptive figures, and address key scientific questions. Collaborate with wet lab scientists to design experiments and analyze data. Present results to a wide variety of stakeholders, from wet lab and computational scientists to clinical, commercial, and executive team members. BE A PROBLEM SOLVER: communicate well, ask questions, proactively eliminate bottlenecks, and be the person people go to when they want a job done right. Requirements Graduate degree (Master’s or PhD) in Computer Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, or related field Proficiency in Python Demonstrated ability to work on multidisciplinary teams Experience in presenting technical material to diverse audiences (Preferred) Experience with immunology data sets (e.g., repertoire profiling, cytometry, expression profiling) Adaptive Biotechnologies is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
