We are seeking a Computational Scientist—with strong analytical tools from any area of biology —to join us in the South San Francisco office. Responsibilities What you’ll do: Design and perform analyses for publications to drive the clinical development across 14 products, leveraging large datasets including both clinical and laboratory data Serve as the expert scientist who can turn a hunch or intuition—your own or a colleague’s—into a rigorous quantitative analysis Work closely with different groups across the organization, e.g., medical affairs, biostatistics, clinical operations, marketing, and sales across different products Communicate scientifically complex topics to diverse stakeholders across the company and externally through academic and clinical conferences Influence the medical guidelines that impact the lives of millions of people. Thrive on handling diverse projects with a range of time-scales. Qualifications Suggested Qualifications (feel encouraged to apply even if not all are met): PhD (or equivalent experience) in Computational Biology, Biophysics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Statistics, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related discipline. Well versed in computational analyses with large datasets and making quantitative arguments from first principles. Computational skills, preferably with fluency in Python or another scripting language. Track record of peer-reviewed publications in well-respected journals; we’re especially interested in those where you played a driving role. Excellent communication via speech, text, and graphics.
