Clinical Bioinformatics Scientist (m/f/d)

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for complex data analysis to evaluate exploratory biomarkers and to significantly contribute to early clinical development programs in oncology
  • Be a member of a biomarker sub-team for Early Development clinical programs and independently represents the function Bioinformatics in this group and make significant contributions to cross-functional initiatives and collaborations on exploratory data analysis of clinical biomarkers
  • Provide data packages and recommendations to help early stage gate decisions. The introduction adaption and further development of highly innovative bioinformatics methods to analyze even very complex data sets (big data integration of several data layers etc.) is a key activity
  • Scientific leadership of highly innovative research projects in Oncology or adjacent indications reaching or at least significantly contributing to stage gate decisions
  • Identification of novel biomarkers using state-of-the-art bioinformatics methods to analyze large and complex data sets
  • Development evaluation implementation and application of novel bioinformatics methods on complex data sets
  • Involved in collaborations with academic or commercial partner and represent occasionally Bayer in external networks in the field of Bioinformatics
  • Support occasionally scientific personnel (post-docs master or PhD students etc) and Maintain interfaces between TRGs Clin. Sciences Statistics Phamacometrics and IT functions

WHO YOU ARE

  • Bachelor or Master degree with several years of experience or PhD with first experience in Sciences (Bioinformatics Chemistry Biology Genetics Biomedical Engineering Physics Computer Science Informatics or other related quantitative discipline) with very strong computational focus
  • Advanced IT & programming skills familiar with high performance computing
  • Highly self-motivated strives for scientific excellence and show evidence of life-long learning to advance
  • Very strong analytical thinking and scientific rigor as well as learly favors systematic approaches
  • Capability to present even very complex issues clearly and convincingly to project teams or decision bodies as well as good communications skills
  • Showing clear leadership potential and very good soft skills and able to manage a high degree of complexity
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken
