Job Description Join a Broad Institute team that is part of a fast-moving nationwide Consortium, the Biomedical Data Translator (https://ncats.nih.gov/translator), to collaboratively build open-source software to support data-integration and hypothesis-generation across the biomedical research enterprise. The Consortium has over a dozen distributed groups that work interactively toward a common vision. Our group’s contribution is a Molecular Data Provider (“MolePro) for systems chemical biology, and we are expected to lead integration of multiple public datasets in this domain. We have explicit domain expertise in this area, and a strong systems and data architect leading the project. We are looking to rapidly build out software-development, -testing, and - integration capabilities to advance a milestone-driven research and development program. Meeting milestones is a requirement for each round of annual funding beyond 2020, which should be a primary shared goal for all team members. You will have opportunity to contribute to new, impactful computational approaches that have potential to change the future of biomedical research.We welcome applications from diverse backgrounds and experience levels. Your primary responsibilities will include: o Work closely with a small diverse team of scientists and engineers to deliver high-quality data to the Consortium. o Identify suitable knowledge sources, understand their data structure, and map them to the Consortium’s data models. o Extract, integrate, and reconcile new data sources with existing knowledge bases. o Ensure that developed software conforms to the Consortium’s requirements. REQUIREMENTS BS, MS, PhD degree in computational life sciences or related field. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with users, including to develop and document requirements. Fluency in Python or Java is required; experience with both is a plus. Familiarity with relational and non-relational database systems (SQL, Neo4j). Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Practical experience building pipelines for scientific data analysis.
