Department: Cancer Research Unit Location: Saskatoon Status: 12 month term Employment Group: Research Full Time Equivalent (FTE): 1 Salary Information: The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $15.09 - 20.41 per hour. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Posted Date: 12/18/2019 Closing Date: Until Filled. Number of Openings: 1 Primary Purpose: The position will support the bioinformatic program established in our laboratory. Nature of Work: Candidates will conceive and develop algorithms and analytical approaches to integrate large genetic/epigenetic/expression datasets, generated both in-house and from public sources, primarily from next-generation sequencing technologies Typical Duties or Accountabilities: To perform computational analyses as directed by the laboratory head Qualifications Education: A BSc/MSc in bioinformatics, systems biology, computer science, statistics/math, and theoretical physics. Experience: Fresh graduate to any number of years Skills: - Strong programming skills in one or more of the following programming languages: Perl, Python, Java, C/C++, R. - Knowledge in probability theory, statistics or statistical pattern recognition. - A reasonable understanding of molecular biology and cancer genomics approaches are required.
