The Gaiti Lab develops cutting-edge single-cell multi-omics technologies to study human somatic and cancer evolution. We use both computational and experimental methods to study these questions, with an interdisciplinary integration of approaches from computational genetics, functional genomics, and molecular biology. Our particular focus is to dissect the mechanisms that drive and facilitate cancer evolution. Our work includes novel computational frameworks and single-cell multi-omics methodologies to decipher the interactions between genome, epigenome, and phenotype in human cancers.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Senior Bioinformatics Analyst. We encourage applications from talented scientists, who are interested in gaining experience in a multidisciplinary, international, and dynamic research environment. The successful candidate will work closely to PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, and computational biologists in the lab to develop new statistical methods and software for the analysis of single cell datasets. This is an exciting opportunity to learn about the latest developments in the growing space of single cell genomics while contributing to new research in cancer evolution and genomics, creating new tools to help scientists and clinicians understand, diagnose, and treat cancer.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee high-throughput data pipelines, including data from many new single-cell technologies such as scRNA-seq, scATAC-seq, scMultiome-seq, and Visium spatial transcriptomics.
  • Analyze sequencing data using established pipelines.
  • Develop new computational methods to integrate and interpret multi-omics data.
  • Assist and collaborate with internal and external researchers in interpretation of sequencing data.
  • Contribute to the codebase, development, and support of open-source software packages.
  • Help to manage lab servers and computational infrastructure.
  • Document and present results in written or oral reports to other lab members.
