Postdoctoral Associates
We are seeking applications for Postdoctoral Associates in the fields of computational biology and/or virology. The successful candidate should be highly motivated and able to work independently, but integrate well within a team with diverse background. The following positions are open:
Postdoc Position in Computational Biology
The responsibilities of the position are:
- To develop and apply computational algorithms and tools to predict phenotypes (e.g. antigenicity, replication ability, receptor binding preference, transmission risks, pathogenesis risks, and vaccine responses) of influenza viruses and other emerging pathogens (e.g. SARS-CoV-2) using omics data and laboratory generated phenotypic data.
- To design novel and broadly protective influenza vaccine candidates.
- To understand the molecular mechanisms of host-pathogen interactions using systems approaches, and/or 4) to study evolutionary pathways of influenza viruses and other emerging pathogens (e.g. SARS-CoV-2).
Postdoc position in Virology or Immunology
The responsibilities of the position are:
- To develop and apply novel methods for influenza vaccine strain selection.
- To develop novel vaccines and antiviral therapy for influenza and emerging pathogens (e.g. SARS-CoV-2).
- To study the impacts of repeated vaccination on vaccine effectiveness
- To study molecular mechanisms of virus transmission, pathogenesis, and immunological responses for influenza viruses and emerging pathogens (e.g., SARS-CoV-2).
