The Marine Microbiomics Lab at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to appoint a Postdoctoral Associate starting January 15, 2024 to work on diatom ecophysiology under the supervision of Professor Shady Amin. We are looking for applicants with strong culturing or field work experience, and with bioinformatics and/or computational biology familiarity who have experience analyzing omics data related to marine microbes or microbiomes.

The candidate will be working on the development and application of a data structure known as pan-genome graphs to represent the population structure of pathogen genomes for genomic surveillance and identification of clusters, which may indicate disease transmission.
